Northeast Surgical Wound Care - No Cost CEUs

The following CEUs are approximately 45-60 minutes in length. Before beginning each session you will be required to sign in with a very brief informational online form. After, you will be forwarded to the online media presentation. Once you have finished watching a short quiz will be given and if successful in passing (75% or better) a link for printing your CEU Certificate will follow directly after.*

  1. Wound Care Products: Read the Label! (click to start ceu)

    PURPOSE: To update the practitioner on how to simplify the process in choosing among the thousands of wound care products by reading the label.

    TARGET AUDIENCE: This continuing education activity is intended for nurses with an interest in skin and wound care.

    OBJECTIVES:
    1. Recognize how to use the wound care dressings by reading the label.
    2. Identify the difference in product composition, active ingredients and quality.
    3. Name the various types of dressings available.
    4. Recognize key components in each dressing category.

    Registration and the completion of the online test and evaluation must be completed by December 21, 2012.  The study ends on December 31, 2012

    This continuing nursing education activity was approved by the Ohio Nurses Association (OBN-001-91) an accredited approver by the American Nursing Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.

    ACCREDITATION INFORMATION FOR NURSES:
    -ONA assigned 14,833-I Approval valid through January 6, 2013
    -Registered Nurses and Licensed Practical Nurses will receive 1.0 Contact hours.

  2. Wound Care Update (click to start ceu)

    PURPOSE: To update the practitioner on the changes in wound care and to bridge the gap between traditional wound care and evidence based practice.

    TARGET AUDIENCE: This continuing education activity is intended for nurses with an interest in skin and wound care.

    OBJECTIVES:
    1. Understand why we are dealing with so many wounds.
    2. Recognize the significance of deep tissue injury and pressure ulcers.
    3. Review the different ways to debride wounds.
    4. Name the various types of dressing used for wound care.

    Registration and the completion of the online test and evaluation must be completed by December 21, 2012.  The study ends on December 31, 2012
